Sophisticated, Victoria-based vocalist Miranda Sage has recently been making great strides in the North American jazz world. Her 2006 CD release, Timeless Places, has garnered extensive airplay and enthusiastic acclaim on CBC, KPLU and other major stations as well as impressive worldwide sales.

Working with University of Victoria Piano Faculty member Arthur Rowe, we continue with this extremely well-received “series-within-the-series” that features outstanding students and recent graduates of the UVic School of Music.

In response to strong popular demand, the distinguished Assistant Principal Clarinet and Principal Bass Clarinet of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presents another superb chamber music programme, this time with two of Vancouver's most highly esteemed and internationally accomplished players. The afternoon will include works by Johannes Brahms, Leonard Bernstein and Nino Rota (who composed the music for The Godfather trilogy).

The first visit to Music On Sunday by this legendary Vancouver saxophonist/pianist who plays all over the world with many of the top names in jazz and is a faculty member at Capilano College.

Lorraine Min - piano

Ms. Lin’s audiences on 5 continents have experienced what the New York Times describes as her “crystalline sound” and her “characterful and charming musical impulses” and the Halifax Chronicle Herald calls “technical and musical skill, finesse, bravura and brilliance that boggles the mind and amazes the ear.”
