Arthur Rowe - piano

Canadian pianist Arthur Rowe is a critically acclaimed and internationally active recitalist, soloist with orchestra and chamber musician and an esteemed member of the piano faculty at the University of Victoria School of Music.   “…first-rate playing: a kind of execution tinglingly alive to the shape and contribution of each phrase" (New York Times)
“unusual clarity of articulation", and "poetry of expression"  (London Times)    The program will include
works by Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Brahms.

An exquisite, Nanaimo-based ensemble comprised of accomplished players with extensive international experience, the Delphinus Trio creates beautiful and soulful classical and impressionist soundscapes.  Tonight’s program will include works by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Eugene Goossen and Julia Bowkun.

The Johannes Wallmann Trio


Pianist Johannes Wallmann grew up here in Central Vancouver Island and then established himself as a prolific performer with his own groups and as a sideman on the New York City jazz and New Music scenes. The two-time Canada Council Artist Grant recipient has released three albums, Quartet, Alphabeticity and Minor Prophets and has taught jazz improvisation and theory at the New School and New York University. He was recently appointed Director of Jazz Studies at California State University East Bay and now resides in the San Francisco Bay area.
