About Diane Moran:
Diane Moran is a practicing Visual Artist who in March 2018 left the big city of Port Coquitlam and moved to Port Renfrew, a remote community on the West Coast of Vancouver Island where she and her husband were running their own business “Remote Renfrew Riverside Retreat”. Diane has since relocated to Qualicum Beach and is looking forward to setting up her home studio and being active in her new community.
As a long-time community connector, and arts advocate Diane has independently and collectively coordinated many community arts projects both locally and internationally. Diane also enjoys educating others about global issues and awareness through her art. She has been intimately involved with and has coordinated relief efforts using art projects to support others after natural disasters. She has undertaken projects in Havana, New Orleans (after Katrina), New York (after Hurricane Sandy), Fort MacMurray (following the forest fires) and Calgary (following the floods). She has been an Artist in Residence in schools has developed and planned many collective arts projects including Culture Days, school-based banner projects, ceramic and mosaic works as well as artists’ presentations on Stigma and Mental Health. Diane’s latest artistic passions include partnering with Sooke Arts Council and the Amber Academy Youth Fine Arts Society on a special Youth Arts Exhibition titled Mindfulness in May of 2021.
Her photography, painting and facilitating art workshops coupled with her humanitarian projects keep Diane grounded and balanced.
