We have recently presented a mid-year funding request to the Town of Qualicum Beach, seeking interim support of $29,000 to stabilize our operations through the remainder of 2025. This is not just a request for emergency support—it is a proactive step in our broader goal of establishing a fee-for-service agreement with the Town, recognizing the essential cultural and economic role TOSH plays in our community.
Our message to Council was clear:
TOSH is more than an arts centre. It’s a cultural cornerstone, a community gathering space, and a living part of Qualicum Beach’s identity. In 2024 alone, we welcomed over 135,000 people in person and online, facilitated over $50,000 in local art sales, and saw $44,000 in direct community support from members and businesses like you.
Despite these successes, our core operations remain under strain. We operate with only 1.5 full-time equivalent staff and receive no operating funding from any level of government. This modest funding request—targeted at maintaining our programming and visitor services—is a bridge to a more sustainable future.
