THE SHEILA MCGIVERIN LEGACY FUND FOR THE ARTS

In February 2026, TOSH formally established the Sheila McGiverin Legacy Fund for the Arts at TOSH, held with the Parksville Qualicum Community Foundation. This fund was made possible through a gift from a local family, in honour of a woman whose story and this place are quietly, beautifully connected.

The fund supports TOSH's long-term financial stability, ensuring the arts remain at the heart of this community for generations to come. It

 

SHEILA MCGIVERIN'S EARLY YEARS WERE SHAPED RIGHT HERE AT TOSH

Sheila McGiverin's early years were shaped right here — in the very schoolhouse that now serves as TOSH. She left Qualicum Beach, as many do, and went on to build a remarkable life. She became known for her achievements in golf and her leadership within the sport, and equally admired for her curiosity, her humour, her loyalty, and her deep commitment to the people and communities she loved.

But she never forgot this place. She spoke often of this close-knit seaside town, and the sense of belonging she found here as a young girl. Those early experiences never left her.

Sheila believed thoroughly in giving back — not as an obligation, but because it was simply who she was. Now, through her family's generosity, she is giving back to this community one final time. To the town that shaped her. To the building where her story began.

 

About This Fund

This is a legacy fund — not a day-to-day donation vehicle. Legacy giving means designating a gift through your estate plan: a will, a registered fund, a life insurance policy, or another planned gift. There is no transaction today. It is a decision about the future.
