ARTIST STATEMENT

 During a time of global unrest and environmental crisis we are propelled in a slipstream that is often defined by others in environment, political and institutional actions and decisions that are outside of our control. Yet as humans we have to navigate and move forward in our day-to-day lives with personal meaning, integrity and authenticity and with a more moral compassionate compass.

My work and process is my attempt to make sense of this juxtaposition of frailty and resilience. It’s reflected in the hard textures, forms, mediums and tones of my aesthetic that is always tempered by a softening often of nature. It is positioned and reflective of how I live and see the world; it holds its own narrative of vulnerability and tenacity.

Trying to instigate individual agency and steer my own path is a daily challenge.
