Abstracting a still life

With Catherine Trembath

Dec 5, 2026 | 10am - 1pm

Still life drawing doesn't have to be about getting every detail just right. If you've ever wanted to loosen up your style and explore a more expressive approach, this workshop is for you. We'll kick things off with a review of basic drawing skills and techniques, then draw inspiration from abstract still life works by a range of artists.

After some warmup exercises, you'll experiment with ways to draw more intuitively, using pencil, charcoal, and scissors to find your own expressive approach.

All levels welcome.

Supply List

  • pencils (HB, 4B and 8 B, or whatever B’s you have)
