There's something special about an old schoolhouse filled with art, creativity and community.
For nearly four decades, The Old School House Arts Centre has been a place where people come together to experience art, learn something new, connect with others and feel a sense of belonging.
And none of it happens by accident. It happens because people care.
This November, we're launching For the Love of TOSH, our annual year-end giving campaign, with a goal of raising $15,000 by February 28, 2027.
Look what your love makes possible!
Every exhibition, class, talk and concert at TOSH is part of something bigger: a vibrant arts community where everyone belongs.
This year, we've introduced evening paint nights and new drop-in textile classes, hosted lectures, trained volunteer docents and filled the House with four wonderful evenings of live music.
We've also been creating exciting new opportunities for artists and young people across our region.
The TOSH Kellett Art Prize will bring artists from Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Haida Gwaii together for a juried exhibition in March 2027.
The new Rosa Cartledge Youth Arts Prize will support emerging young artists through professional mentorship, materials funding and an exhibition of their work in 2028.
And our Teen Drop In program returned, offering young people a relaxed, welcoming place to explore their creativity and connect with others.
More opportunities to create. More reasons to come together. More moments that remind us why places like TOSH matter.
TOSH was built by community. And it's sustained by you.
Behind every exhibition, class and welcoming face is the everyday work of keeping this House running.
With a small staff team, dedicated volunteers and a community that continues to show up, TOSH makes a remarkable amount happen.
But great ideas take more than enthusiasm. They take people, planning, resources and the ongoing support that keeps our doors open and our programs thriving.
