NOVEMBER AT TOSH
November in an old school house has a particular feeling. The days grow shorter, the light softens, and there's a natural pull towards warm rooms, good company and making things with our hands.
Outside, the leaves have nearly all fallen. Inside, the galleries and classrooms are still full of life, ideas and creativity.
As we move towards the end of the year, there's plenty happening at TOSH — from exhibitions and creative classes to opportunities to gather as a community.
THREE NEW EXHIBITIONS
This November, all three TOSH galleries welcome new exhibitions, each exploring the stories, connections and unexpected moments that make up our lives.
From the everyday magic we sometimes overlook, to the creative bond between generations and the memories we inherit without knowing their full stories, these exhibitions invite us to pause, look closer and see the familiar in a new way.
Ordinary Magic — A Membership Exhibition
Magic isn't only found in fairy tales. It lives in the way light falls across a kitchen table, in the first green push of a seed through soil, in the moment a stranger's face breaks into a smile.
This year, we asked our members what magic means to them. What came back is a room full of the things that stop us mid-step and remind us the world is stranger and more beautiful than we remembered.
Julia & Araya Oscarson — Interwoven Perspectives: A Collaborative Narrative
A mother and her ten-year-old daughter, making work alongside each other.
Interwoven Perspectives celebrates what happens when two artists share a table and see entirely different things. It's a story of creativity passed between generations, and of how an artistic practice can grow and evolve while it's still being figured out.
Deanna Lynch — Hello Sweets
Hello Sweets began with a box of unmarked family photographs: the images were passed down, but the stories were not.
Through cloth, wax and found objects, Deanna explores how memory is inherited and embodied between generations. What we carry, we cannot always name.

KEEP CREATING THIS FALL
As the year winds down, there's still time to make room for creativity.
Our Arts Education programme offers opportunities to explore new materials, develop your skills and spend time learning alongside others.
From drawing and painting to textiles, printmaking and more, our classes are led by professional artists and designed to welcome both beginners and experienced makers.
With small class sizes and plenty of individual attention, there's something special about learning together in the TOSH classroom.
DROP IN. MAKE SOMETHING.
Creativity doesn't always need a plan. Sometimes all you need is a project, a little time and good company.
Our drop-in programmes offer welcoming spaces to make, connect and share ideas.
Fibre Arts Drop-In with Amy Vervoort
Wednesdays, 4–6 PM, September 23 through December 9, 2026.
Bring your textile project and work alongside other makers. No series and no commitment — just show up and create in community.
Teen Drop-In with Brooke
Tuesdays, 3:30–5:30 PM, September 22 through November 24, 2026.
Supported by a grant from the RDN.
Third spaces for teenagers are getting harder to find, and we’re proud this one exists. Please tell the teenagers in your life.
MUSIC FOR THE ARTS
Our final Music for the Arts event of 2026 is happening on Friday, November 20, and only a few tickets remain!
Join us for an evening of music, connection and community, all in support of arts and culture at TOSH.
It's a wonderful way to celebrate the role creativity plays in bringing our community together.
COME WORK WITH US
TOSH is also looking for new Board members who want to help shape the future of arts and culture in our community.
